Dawn (Devta) first explored Kundalini Yoga in 1990, studying with Darshan Yoga Studio, wherein she had the extraordinary pleasure of meeting Yogi Bhajan, the Master of Kundalini Yoga. Dawn brings a warm and vibrant teaching style drawing on her continuing education with such masters as Gurmukh from Golden Bridge in Los Angeles, Guru Dev Singh, Shakta Kaur Khalsa, Todd Norian and Ann Greene of Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, Amy Weintraub (LifeForce Yoga Therapy), JJ Gormley, Betsy Downing, PhD, Brian Legere (Yoga Wall technique), and Doug Keller of Health Advantage Yoga Center. Dawn continues her growth and spiritual path by attending White Tantric Yoga, Summer Solstice in New Mexico, and attends classes, conferences/workshops, and trainings involving spiritual and yogic traditions around the country.

Dawn is continuing to pursue her RYT-500 certification, and completed a second 200 hour teacher training program with Doug Keller and Susan Van Nuys at Health Advantage Yoga Center in Herndon, Virginia, completing this training in December 2006. She completed an Anusara Immersion Level I with Todd Norian and Ann Greene in June 2006 at Kripalu Center in Lenox, Massachusetts.

The word "anusara" means to align with the flow of the universal current with such harmonious synchronization that ecstatic freedom is experienced. Within this freedom, the revelatory power of grace awakens us to the truth that this universal flow is our essential nature. In this form of Hatha yoga, you will learn how this higher knowledge naturally fuels your deepest desire to lovingly serve the creative flow of life through each breath and posture in your yoga practice. On and off your yoga mat, you learn how to artistically offer your individual light and your unique music with the heartfelt prayer by adding more beauty, love, and goodness to the world.

As a LifeForce Yoga Practitioner, Dawn assists individuals though the practice of yogic techniques to create and maintain a safe and compassionate container so that in an atmosphere of acceptance and love, the individual can learn the tools to clear their own inner space of whatever is preventing them from realizing and sustaining their positive mental health. LifeForce Yoga is practiced as the first yogis practiced, resting on the fundamental belief that all that we need is already within us; that we are that which we seek.

What is LifeForce Yoga?
LifeForce Yoga is plain and simple. It really doesn't need a name, but in this day and age, when there are so many ways of practicing what is called Yoga, it's important to identify a practice this is intentionally designed to work with and manage mood. To make it simple, LifeForce Yoga is a practice of compassion that creates a big enough container to embrace and accept all the dualities of mood, especially when dealing with depression, anxiety, or trauma. The practice is adapted to each individual so that student can move into a more balanced (satvic) and positive emotional, mental, and physical state of equanimity and self-awareness. LifeForce Yoga clears away the obstructions so that we know that the energy awake within us and the energy that surrounds us are one and the same.

Dawn brings a compassionate and nurturing feel to her classes, and creates and holds a safe space for her students to experience deep and profound awakenings. Yoga allows you to switch on the luminous, intuitive and creative part of yourself. By connecting to the luminous parts of ourselves, we discover and experience the truth that everything we need to know is within. Dawn's passion for health and spirituality continues to lead her down the yogic path. Her intention is to become a catalyst for transformation and growth, and to help students find their individual paths towards a healthy mind, body and spirit.
